A rather shabby and broken looking bureau with wonky knobs and unusual escutcheons that were a later addition to the drawers.
Stripping down the carcassing wasn’t hard as the glue had already broken down through age.
Re-gluing the carcass. This bureau was unusual because the carcass and drawer fronts were made from solid figured sections of mahogany.
Repairs to drawer front were needed due to the lipping being integral to the rest of the drawer.
Fully restored bureau. I repositioned the new handles, as the original ones appeared to have been placed too close together. The repairs were not noticeable unless you were looking for them.
