17th Century Oak Drop Leaf Table

17th Century Oak Drop Leaf Table

This table had been kept in a shed and used as a workbench; it was covered in oil and had even had a vice screwed to it.

First stage - disassemble the table. It came to pieces very easily.

New corners were glued to the drop leaves, using reclaimed 17th century oak.

A strip of new oak was glued between the two top sections, to allow for the shrinkage that had taken place over time
